Local professionals are finding jobs more quickly this year than last year. During the last six months (February – July), individuals in a career transition in the Greater Boston area who worked with ClearRock found new jobs in 12.6 weeks. This is an improvement of 2.6 weeks from the individuals working with ClearRock during the same time period in 2015, who reported finding work in 15.2 weeks.
We have found that individuals are landing new jobs 20% faster and receiving multiple offers this year, especially in Boston’s robust bio/pharma and healthcare industries. We continue to see a large percentage of individuals remaining within the industry they just left, as well as a significant percentage who are starting their own businesses.
The United States Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, reports that job seekers nationally are finding employment in 28 weeks during the same time period in 2016 compared to 28.3 weeks as of July 2015. While the DOL employment numbers remain essentially the same from 2015 to 2016, job seekers working with ClearRock found new employment 46% faster in 2015 and 55% faster in 2016 than the national average.
