The CEO Benchmarking Report for 2021

Who would have known that the week of March 9th, 2020 would change the world of work as we knew it forever? As daily cases in Massachusetts were moving to double digits, and across the US to triple digits, organizations pivoted swiftly, moving their employees out of their brick and mortar environs, to the comfort and safety of their dining room table or make shift home office. Now, nearly 9 months later, organizations find themselves reevaluating their real estate needs, shifting their strategic priorities, and determining how to keep a remote workforce motivated, engaged and productive.

In September 2020, The Predictive Index, a talent optimization firm, with which ClearRock is a Certified Partner, surveyed 160 CEOs and Presidents of organizations ranging in size from 25-1,000 employees. The survey

focused on gaining insights on the pandemic’s impact on organizations’ strategic priorities and the type of people challenges that have arisen as a result of the remote work environment. (Read the full report here.)

Since March, 69% of teams have been restructured due to reductions in force, forcing 96% of organizations to shift strategic direction (50% of the CEOs surveyed reported that their shift in strategy was significant).

97% of organizations are planning for a significant number of remote workers in a post-pandemic world, even though 56% currently have concerns around employee performance and productivity.

As you assess the impacts of 2020 on your own organization – and plan for 2021, a 1:1 Talent Strategy Session with ClearRock’s Talent Consulting team can help you understand how your team aligns with your strategic priorities, and provide building blocks to improve communication and accountability – setting you up for success in the year ahead.
